Overview

In 1971, I began my journey with textiles after taking several weaving classes in Palo Alto, California. My first work focused on naturalistic tapestries made with handspun, naturally dyed yarns. A sell-out exhibition at the local library suggested that I might actually be able to earn a living from this new passion.

I continued experimenting, expanding into a variety of two- and three-dimensional sculptural works. A later foray into handwoven fashion eventually led to a major change in direction—and ultimately to the Philippines, where I established a weaving workshop and began a long career in textile design and production. Nearly three decades later, after settling in New Harmony, Indiana, I returned to textile art. Exhibitions at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art, Gallery 411 in Columbus, Indiana, and the Tube Factory Artspace at Big Car Collaborative in Indianapolis between 2019 and 2022 marked my re-entry into the art world.
